King Micah & Evannah V Share the 3-Day Rude Boy Journey at UIC Radio Chicago

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — King Micah and Evannah V recently appeared in person at UIC Radio Studio in Chicago to discuss the creation of their single and music video, “Rude Boy.”

The UIC Radio interview provided an opportunity to share the story behind one of the duo’s most ambitious independent productions, a three-day music video shoot filmed in Kingston, Jamaica.

During the live interview at UIC Radio, King Micah and Evannah V discussed the creative process that brought the project to life, from early concept development to international production. The conversation covered the Island-Fusion sound behind “Rude Boy,” the challenges of filming abroad, and the importance of building connections between Belizean and Jamaican artists.

The “Rude Boy” music video was filmed over three days in Kingston, Jamaica, utilizing multiple locations including the Port Royal area and Barbican Car Wash. The production also featured a fleet of bikers, dancers, and local creative talent to help create the cinematic atmosphere of the project.

The video was filmed by Xtreme Arts, a Jamaican production company recognized for work with artists including Shenseea and Spice. The project also included collaboration with Digital Sham, a native Jamaican creative who contributed to the visual direction and authenticity of the production.

Another topic discussed during the UIC Radio interview was the visual storytelling behind the project. Evannah V brought her educational background from Columbia College Chicago, where she studied the science of cinematography with a minor in music business, into her role as co-director.

The UIC Radio appearance also highlighted a broader mission of creating international opportunities for Belizean artists through music, film, and media. By combining production resources in Chicago and Kingston, Jamaica, the project reflects a growing creative relationship between Belizean and Jamaican talent.

The full UIC Radio interview documents an important milestone in the journey of King Micah and Evannah V and serves as a record of the collaboration that produced “Rude Boy.”
